Tomen Corporation Expands GelanotsÆ with New DryHeat
NEW YORK, 8/1/99 - Tomen introduces its newest addition to
the GelanotsÆ group, DryHeat, is a hydrophilic, polyurethane
membrane suitable for application to lightweight fabrics.
DryHeat is very lightweight, highly breathable, and extremely
soft. It is made specifically for use in down and synthetic
insulated garments and sleeping bags as a shell fabric. Another
advantage of DryHeat is its cost. DryHeat is very competively
priced compared to similar fabrications developed by other
name brands.
Although seam taping on sleeping bags is not efficient, DryHeat
offers a significant barrier to external moisture penetration
that causes the insulation to become wet, like condensation
in tents and the like. The polyurethane membrane also makes
this fabric windproof and waterproof, a must in performance
related products. This added protection makes sleeping in
damp and windy conditions comfortable and warm.
Another concern with down and synthetic sleeping bag and garment
construction is internal moisture accumulation. As our bodies
get warmer, we emit increasing amounts of moisture vapor.
DryHeat has a guaranteed minimum of 15,000g/sqm/24hrs making
it extremely breathable, reducing condensation inside your
sleeping bag and garments.
While DryHeat is not developed to be used in such end uses
as rainwear or tents, Tomen offers a wide variety of Gelanots®
that are. Please see below for contact information.
